Hark! A mountain of cheese from some mountainous mountains. Yeah….that’s about as creative as the alliteration will be.
This particular tomme style cheese, Fleuron, is made with a mix of cow & sheep’s milk and comes to us from the Western Pyrénées mountains in France (google it folks, and just stare at those lush, green picturesque green hills of loveliness). All the local herds are surrounded by plenty of grass and foliage to munch on, providing us with this tasty lil treat.
Fleuron has a semi-hard texture which lends itself to a creamier mouthfeel and a gorgeous rounded nutty flavour with pops of fresh hazelnut kinda vibe going on. Perfect picnic cheese as it pairs with fresh summer fruits as well as savour pickles and cured meats. Every day snacking sorted!
